How to CLEP?

90 Minutes – Multiple Choice

There are many advantages to testing out and getting college credit using CLEP exams.  There are 4 main steps.

Step 1 – Check with your school and find out their CLEP policy

Every college and university sets its own policy on what CLEP exams they will accept and how many credits they will award.  It’s important to check with your college/university as to what courses they will accept that you can test out of.

Step 2 – Review your options and determine which exams to take

After you find out which CLEP exams your college or university will accept, review your options and decide which exam(s) lines up with the degree you’re seeking.

Step 3 – Find a CLEP testing center and register

CLEP exams are administered at 1,900 test centers and 2,900 colleges and universities across the country. Once you find a testing center, you will contact them directly to register and schedule your exam.

Step 4 – Prepare for your CLEP exam

Unless you are one of the few that can test out without any preparation, you’ll need to get yourself ready for your CLEP exam(s).  Knowledge2College online courses will prepare you to pass your CLEP exams.
